Obituary

Alberstine "Pinky" Zephro Jackson, 88, of Clarksville, TN, a native of Hot Springs, AR, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 21, 2025, with her daughter by her side. She was born on February 20, 1937, in Hot Springs, AR, to Ulyeese Tweedle and Alberta Counts.

Pinky was preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence K. Page, Sr.; her son, Lawrence K. Page, Jr.; her second husband, Charles A. Jackson; her grandson, Dwayne Michael Moore Jr.; and her granddaughter, Shiyonca Page.

At an early age, Pinky was baptized and became a devoted member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was a proud graduate of Langston High School. At the age of 18, she married Lawrence Kenneth Page, and together they began raising their family.

Later, Pinky joined Historic Visitors Chapel A.M.E. Church under the leadership of Pastor Clerence Boyd, where she was an active and faithful member and sang in the Young Adult Choir.

Never one to stop growing, Pinky returned to college as an adult and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from Arkansas State University. She dedicated her professional life to nurturing young minds, working as a Head Start teacher and later serving for many years as a Teacher's Aide at Park Elementary School with the Hot Springs School District.

Children were truly Pinky's passion. She often said, "I don't grow flowers, I grow kids!" Her warmth, patience, and love drew children to her naturally, and she made sure no child ever felt overlooked in her presence.

On June 27, 1980, Pinky married Charles A. Jackson, the love of her life. The couple relocated to Lansing, Michigan, where she worked with the Lansing School District for 10 years. In 1985, she founded a successful childcare business, Pinky's Playpen, which she faithfully operated for over 19 years.

Throughout her life, Pinky remained steadfast in her faith and served faithfully in ministry at several churches in Lansing, Michigan, including: Grace Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, under Pastor Robert Nicholson, where she served on the Mother's Board, Ebenezer Baptist Church, under Pastor Rodney Patterson and Bishop Neal Roberson, also serving on the Mother's Board, Mount Zion All Nations Bible Church, under Bishop H. Levi McClendon III, where she was a member of the Senior Light Ministry.

Upon retiring, Pinky returned to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she reunited with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church and was honored as an honorary Mother under the leadership of Pastor Billie Wilson.

Pinky leaves to cherish her loving memory her six children: Gerald "Jerry" Page, Donald Page, Marsha Page, Arlitra "Lynn" (Dexter) Smith, Carla McClain, and Timothy "Rick" (Ina) Page, her seventeen grandchildren: Lamont Page, Anthony Ja'Don Page, Shaneka Page, Kamisha Page, Rachada Page, Fatisha Christian, Teshana Page, Paquarie Houston, Tinisha Page-Williams, Cleon Smith, Rickia Page, Chole' Smith, Tiffany Moore, Breana Page, Courtney Horton, Isaiah Page, Sydney Page; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a host of surrogate children, relatives, and friends; and her beloved surrogate daughters, Beverly Smith, Carolyn Avery Page, Eddie Mae Page, and Vanessa Thompson.
