Albert Don "A.D." Smith, Jr. age 86, of Hot Springs passed away, Sunday, May 14, 2017. He was born December 15, 1930 in Hot Springs to Albett D. Smith, Sr. and Itell Jackson Smith. They preceded him in death as well as his siblings, Alma Terry, Martha Wesson, Sullivan Smith and Al Smith.
He attended the Historic Langston High School. A.D. was a veteran of the United States Navy and later served in the reserves. He was a former employee of Reynolds, Maurice Bath House, Garland County Courthouse and retired from Weyerhaeuser Company.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Aurelia Estrellita Smith of Hot Springs; two sisters, Marcille Gant of Hot Springs and Carolyn Johnson of Little Rock; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM,Friday, May 19, 2017 at Visitors Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church 319 Church Street, where Rev. Gregory C. Nettles, pastor, Rev. Gregory E. Guinn, officiating and Rev. Clarence V. Boyd will deliver the eulogy. Open visitation will be Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 12:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
