Alberta Louise Washington-Nero,86, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. She was born on November 30, 1937, to Albert and Juanita Haward Washington in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Alberta's life was a testament to love, family, and faith.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Mr. Rufus E. Nero, her son Larry Ross Scott, her brother Roosevelt Albert Washington, and three sisters: Victoria Spencer, Ruthie Mae Washington, and Joyce Helen Washington.
A devoted daughter, mother, and wife, Alberta's passion for her church was evident in her active participation, where her spirit shone brightly. Her dedication to her faith and community was an inspiration to all who knew her.Their memories remain cherished in the hearts of those who knew them.
Alberta leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her five children: Michael (Mary) Washington, Clarence Wayne Scott, Ray Charles Scott, Rufus Elijah Nero, and Anthony Nero (Fiancé, Sarah L. Clay). She is also survived by her sister, Ollie Genever (Charles) Flint, along with twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends, all of whom were touched by her kindness and warmth.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Visitation on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Chapel Baptist, 347 Grove St, Hot Springs, AR 71901. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM, honoring a life lived with grace, compassion, and love.
