The course of life for Alfreada "Al" Logan, began March 30, 1948 in Haynesville, LA, when he was born to George Sr. and Ida Bell Turner Logan. He finished his race and answered the voice of the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Mercy Hospital, Hot Springs, AR with his family at his side. Those completing the course before him include his father, George Logan Sr.

Al was a 1966 graduate of Woodson High School in Haynesville, LA. He furthered his education and attended Grambling State University for one year. In 1968 he began his 31 years of employment career with Reynolds Metals Company, and during his tenure, he was drafted in the United States Army to serve in the Vietnam War from January 7, 1969 to August 10, 1970. Al returned and kept his time in service with Reynolds and managed the casting division and had the distinct "Honor" of working on projects for NASA. He continued his education studies at Triton College. There, he obtained his associate degree in Business, then he transferred to Benedictine University of Lisle, Illinois graduating with "Honors" and received his Bachelors of Business Degree. During the early 1970's Al gave his life to Christ and united with the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church then under the tool age of Rev. Porter. Al loved his Shiloh family. He was an extraordinary member serving on the Usher Board, Finance Committee and the Trustee Board. After moving to Arkansas he united with Greater St. Paul Baptist Church, under the leadership of Reverend Tommy Howard. Al enjoyed his retirement in Royal Arkansas by spending precious moments in his garden and traveling with his wife Ruth who is his "Everything".

His memories will be cherished and etched in the heart of his devoted and loving wife of 45 years, Ruth Jackson Logan of Royal, AR to whom he married on July 4, 1968. Their union was blessed with two children, Stanley E. (Lorrie) Logan and Andrew Logan (Kimber Howard) all of Aurora, IL; his beloved mother, Ida Bell Logan of Haynesville.LA; his beloved grandchildren, Dakari Q. Logan, Deagan E. Logan, Dexter M. Logan, Mason D. Logan, Bryce C. Logan, Lauryn K. Logan and Sydney A. Thomas. AL cherished and loved each and every one of his grandchildren. Al opened his heart in 1972 and adopted Linda Ferrell (Panky), niece of his loving wife and raised her like one of his own children. Al also leaves behind five brothers and two sisters; James Logan(Fannie) Houston, TX, George Logan Jr.(Ann) Houston, TX, Willie Logan (Doris) Washington, D.C., Rev. Uria D. Logan (Dorothy) Haynesville, LA, Jerrie Ann James (Rufus) Houston, TX, Doise Logan (Sandy) Fort Washington, MD, and Melba Logan of Haynesville, LA and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A time of remembrance and visitation will be held, Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M. at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church 497 Crescent Ave. The final celebration of life will be held, Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church 7661 West 63rd Place Summit, Illinois with a time of visitation and family hour beginning at 7:00 – 8:00 P.M. and the celebration service will be from 8:00 – 9:00 P.M.
