Barbara (Bobbi Jo) Mellulis née Gischer, 76 of Hot Springs, AR transitioned on Monday, May 06, 2024. She was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on August 8, 1947, to Anthony B. Gischer and Mary E. Gischer née Enslin.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her sister-in-law, Debi Gischer.

Barbara was a proud alumna of McKendree College, graduating in the class of 1979 with a bachelor's degree, and later earned a nursing degree from Kaskaskia College in 1991. Her dedication to her education reflected her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and service to others.
A devout Seventh-Day Adventist, Barbara's faith was central to her life and brought her deep comfort and purpose. She found joy in simple pleasures, including baking, gardening, and birdwatching. Above all, Barbara cherished spending time with her family, especially supporting and cheering on her grandchildren in their extracurricular activities. Barbara will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering faith, and her love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.

She is survived by her loving children: Nikki Lopez (Joe) née Gischer of Munster, Indiana; Kelli Johnson née Mellulis of Habersham County, Georgia; Joshua Walpole (Tammy) of Mountain Pine, Arkansas; and Bridget Cantrell of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Barbara was a devoted grandmother to ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Margaret Ann Abbott of Mesa, Arizona, and Terry Anthony Gischer Sr. of Belleville, Illinois, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
