Bertha Witherspoon, 69, of Hot Springs, AR, peacefully transitioned on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Chi Hospital in Hot Springs, AR, with her family by her side. Born on April 25, 1954, in Hot Springs, AR, Bertha was the first child of Ivy and Willie Landrum.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her brother Ronnie Landrum, and her sister-in-law Gloria Witherspoon.
Bertha's journey began at Langston, where she graduated. Following graduation, she moved to Dallas, TX, and pursued further education with college classes. In 1989, she met Louis, and ten years later, they were joyfully united in marriage in 1998. Bertha found immense joy in serving Jehovah, making her a phenomenal mother and wife. She cherished the simple pleasure of sharing meals with her loved ones. Bertha contributed to her community by working as a teacher's aide in Hot Springs, sharing her love for teaching. In later years, she continued her dedication in the clerical field.
Surviving Bertha are her devoted husband of 26 years, Louis Witherspoon, her sons Jonathan Witherspoon and Donnie Witherspoon, all of Hot Springs, AR, and her siblings: Aundra Landrum of Little Rock, AR; Willie Beatrice Landrum of Philadelphia, PA; Wanda Woodard of St. Louis, MO; and Pat Buchler. Her in-laws include Elizabeth Witherspoon, Brenda Anderson, Mary Pickett, Carrie Witherspoon, Linda Witherspoon, and Manuel Witherspoon, all of Hot Springs, AR.
The funeral service for Bertha's life will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Service at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning one hour prior at 336 E. Grand Ave, Hot Springs, AR 71901.

The family of Bertha extends gratitude for the overwhelming support received during this challenging time and acknowledges CHI St. Vincent Hospital for their care during her final days.
