Reflections of Life

"A precious one from us is gone, a voice we love is stilled, A place is vacant in our hearts which can never be filled; and after a lonely heartache and many silent tears, but always a beautiful memory of one we love so dear."

On the evening of January 4, 2012, the trumpets blew and the angels started to sing and shout awaiting the arrival of the newest angel, Betty Jean Baker Davis. Her loved ones that departed the Earth before her were waiting for her at the Pearly Gates, just as she knew they would.

Her legacy began in Waldo, Arkansas on August 23, 1953 in Waldo, Arkansas when she was born to Willie B. Barker and Ernestine Kingsby, both whom proceeded her in death. Betty accepted Christ at an early age at Westside Church of Christ where she remained a member until her death. Betty attended and graduated from Westside Elementary and High School. She dedicated her life by caring for others as a Certified Nurse Assistant and by doing private care nursing. .

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 22 years, James A. Davis, Jr of Hot Springs; three sons, Michael and Jonathan Baker both of Hot Springs and Freeman Lamont Jones of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Kimberly (Chad) Jones-Berry of Dallas, TX; one brother, Willie "Sonnyman" Revells of Philadelphia, PA; one sister, Rose "Princess" Kingsby of Camden, AR; nine grandchildren, Cheyenne, Marlon, Jordan, Sha'korian, Daren, Austin, Johnavan, Kimyron, and Skylar. Two special aunts, Dorthine Barber, Phoenix, AZ and Janie Mae "Sister girl" Kingsby of Waldo, AR. She also leaves behind three special ffiends, Juanita Reed and Louise Jones both of Arkadelphia, AR and Pam Easter of Hot Springs, AR and her extended family and friends will always cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Westside Church of Christ in Waldo with Bro. Donald Howell officiating. Burial will follow in Watts Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
