Betty J. Thompson, age 63 of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away October 13, 2020 at Chi St. Vincent.  Betty was born in Hot Springs, AR. To Fred Thompson and Lurene Tidwell Thompson on June 7, 1957.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Lurene Thompson.

She was a 1974 graduate of Hot Springs High School and received a Practical Nursing Degree from Garland Community College (formerly) Quapaw Vo-Tech, she also attended Houston Community College in Houston, Texas. Betty worked several professional jobs while residing in Houston, Texas, her last job was with Williams Telecommunication in Houston TX. After her marriage to Charles Burrell she returned to Hot Springs to help care for her parents. After the passing of her parents she fell to a lengthy illness where she fought long and hard until the Lord called her home.

Betty is survived by her sister Beverly Thompson of Houston, TX, brother Larry (Debra) Thompson of Dallas, TX, nieces Rona Felton Peters, Keicha Thompson Moore, Kenya Thompson House and nephew Darrell Jones along with many great nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved so dearly.

The simplest pleasures of life brought great joy to Betty. She loved cooking, eating, talking on the phone (all day) and connecting with family and friends. She was strong and independent with a contagious personality.

Funeral services will be held  12:00 noon Monday October 19th with Visitation starting one hour prior 11:00am. Carrigan Memorial Funeral Service. 336 E. Grand Hot Springs AR. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park.

There will be limited seating and mask are required.
