Obituary

Bishop Albert Lawrence Northcross, 73, of Malvern, AR transitioned on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loved ones. Bishop Northcross was preceded in death by his parents Charles L. Northcross and Lucy McClain-Northcross, two brothers Charles E. Northcross, and Eddie L. Northcross.

Bishop Northcross was born April 16, 1948, in Ashdown, AR to the late Charles L. Northcross and Lucy McClain-Northcross.  He attended Little River Training School of Ashdown, AR Graduating in 1966 and Attend College at AM&N in Pine Bluff, AR (Now University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, UAPB).

He married Ms. Brenda F. Eddington on August 6, 1971, in Malvern, AR, to this union, 3 daughters were born. He worked as a correction officer for many years at the Department of Corrections in Benton, AR where he was one of the first officers to head
the work release program, he later transferred to Bi-State in Texarkana, AR.

Bishop Northcross worked a few other jobs before retiring. Although retired he couldn't stop working and started his own business selling watermelons of which he did for many years until his health began to decline.

Bishop Northcross is known for his Contagious smile, Never meeting a stranger, Love of Watches, and Bringing life to any room he entered. Bishop Northcross was a drummer in a band called the "Y,T,T's" (Yesterday, Today, & Tomorrow) in his early years and then later becoming the Owner and Operator of Showtime Entertainment, where he was able to Manage & Schedule events allowing him to work with many Blues & Soul Singers such as Mr. Tyrone Davis to name a few and many others.

At an early age, Bishop Northcross joined the East Main Street C.O.G.I.C in Ashdown, AR under the leadership of the late Elder R.N. Sanders, in adulthood he joined Calvary C.O.G.I.C. in Malvern, AR, under the leadership of the late Rev. J.W. Harrison as well as became a member of Christ Consciousness Awareness Center in Little Rock, AR under the leadership of Chief Apostle D. Dewayne Rudd for over twenty years, where he headed the Security team until his health declined. He was blessed to attend Security training at Bishop T.D. Jakes Church, The Potter's House in Dallas, TX and was granted several opportunities becoming Security for Bishop Paul Martin, Bishop Jamal Bryant, and Bishop Carlton Pearson. Albert was ordained Bishop on March 9, 2003, by Chief Apostle D. Dewayne Rudd, Little Rock, AR

Bishop Northcross is survived by his wife of 51 years. Lady Brenda F. Northcross, his Daughters: Donitia Northcross, LaShelle (Earl) Jones, and LaToya (Adrain) Cooper all of Malvern, AR, his Sons: Russel Pegues of Ashdown, AR, Corey Hughes of Malvern, AR, and DeVandre Northcross of Antoine, AR. Brothers and Sisters: Dwane (Debra) Northcross of Ashdown, AR, Donald (Gladys) Northcross of Sacramento, CA, Brenda Watson of Texarkana, TX, Sharon Smith of Ashdown, AR, sister 'n' laws Mary D. Northcross, Gloria Northcross of Ashdown, AR, Marie Smith of San Jose, CA, Shirley Harvey of St. Louis, MO, Janice Burks and Virginia (Omar) Alamen of Malvern, AR. A host of Grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, God-children, Family, and Friends.

The Visitation will be Saturday, September 25, 2021, 10:00 AM  at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church,  1220 Carmichael St.  Malvern, AR, 72104 with Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM.
