Reflections of Bobby Lee Nutt, Sr.

Bobby Lee Nutt, Sr.  in his 66 th season of life departed his earthly home on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR.

Bobby was born to the union of Roosevelt and Betty Harris-Nutt on August 7, 1951 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas.  The family moved to Hot Springs shortly afterwards.

Bobby was reared under the Evangelist Temple Church of God in Christ diocese founded by the late Bishop S. R. Chambers with the late Mother Elnora Durr as his spiritual leader.

He received his early education in the Hot Springs School System.  Bobby attended junior high at the Historical Langston Junior/Senior High School.  He later moved back to Mineral Springs and attended the Historical Tollette High School in Tollette, AR.

Bobby worked for the Car Wash for many years where he first met his wife, Betty.  He was employed as a driver for the Mayflower Moving Company, and later worked for the City of Hot Springs Sanitation Department where he retired.

He married Betty L. Hamilton on December 6, 1993.  Through their union they raised a blended family of children and grandchildren.

Bobby was a friend to all and was especially known for his devotion to his family and friends.  His protective nature earned respect from his love ones as well as anyone who thought to challenge him.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Nutt; daughter, Sharon D. Nutt; step-son, Reginald Hamilton; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Nettie B. Nutt; maternal grandparents, Bob and Susie Harris; uncles, Hugh Harris and Jimmy Harris; aunt, Nita Gamble.

Those left to cherish his memories is his wife of twenty-four years, Betty Nutt;  his mother, Betty Anderson (Richard Johnson); sister, LaShona Nutt; sons, Paul Nutt (Teresa) all of Hot Springs and Bobby Nutt, Jr. of Fort Smith; step-son, James Hamilton (Renee);  daughters, Cathy Nutt and Tiffany Hamilton; step-daughters, Jean Hamilton and Sonya Russell all of Hot Springs, Danielle Stallins of  Russellville; twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren; a special nephew who was like a son, Michael Jones of West Helena; goddaughter, Janelle Wallace (Eric) of Hot Springs; step-brother, Herbert Whitaker, Jr. of Dallas, TX; step-sister, Jean Whitaker of California; three brothers-in-law, Tommy Conway, Alvin Conway and Raymond Crawford (Janie); aunt, Teressa White of Hot Springs, and a host of cousins and friends throughout the United States.

Special recognition to his care-takers, Alberta Reliford and Ivory Walker and the staff of National Park Medical Center.

Services will be held 12:00, Saturday, December 16, 2016 at New Walters A. M. E. Church, 205 Silver Street with Rev. Anthony Nero  officiating.  Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 6:30 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
