Booker T. Crutchfield, 82, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Hot Springs, Arkansas, transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 14, 1944, in Scott, Arkansas, to Leroy Crutchfield and Jessie McBride.
Booker was a proud graduate of Jones High School and furthered his education at Philander Smith College. On April 7, 1973, he married the love of his life, Linda Daniels, in Little Rock, Arkansas. Booker worked for Arkansas Power & Light as an Energy Data Specialist for more than 12 years. He was also a proud veteran of the Vietnam War, having honorably served in the United States Army.
After retiring from the workforce, Booker devoted much of his time to the things he loved most: his family and music. He was a talented musician and had the opportunity to perform at the historic Arlington Hotel as a member of the Willie Davis Combo. His love for music and the joy he brought to others through his talent will be fondly remembered.
Booker was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda Crutchfield; his parents, Leroy Crutchfield and Jessie McBride; his brothers, Freddie Crutchfield, John Crutchfield, Merron Crutchfield, James Crutchfield, and Vernon Crutchfield; his sisters, Fannie Mae Nichols and Herbertine Rideout; and his sons, Melvin Crymes and Brian Leverette.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his sons, Alan Daniels of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Eugene Battle of Fort Worth, Texas; and Vernon Covin of Carlisle, Arkansas; his daughters, Phyllis Crutchfield of Bakersfield, California; Jacquelyn Crutchfield of St. Louis, Missouri; Lisa Logan of Conway, Arkansas; Niki Battle of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and Quisha Crutchfield of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Benjamin Crutchfield of Henderson, Nevada; his sister, Terecia Bailey of Colton, California; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
The visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services, Inc., 336 E. Grand Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Headquarters, 1900 Hobson Avenue, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Reverend Phillip Crutchfield of Christ’s Church Assembly will officiate.
Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park, 3077 E. Grand Service Road, Hot Springs, Arkansas.
