Brian David
Reilly
May 12, 1954 — Mar 9, 2026
Dr. Brian David Reilly, born May 12, 1954, in Brooklyn, New York, passed away suddenly late Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, at the age of 71.
Brian grew up in Brooklyn as the third of six children born to Jack and Antoinette Reilly. From an early age, he embraced adventure (to his own physical detriment) and built friendships that have spanned decades and states. He spent years traveling across the country on his motorcycle with his dog, Misty, and lived for a time in a tepee in New Mexico.
In 1979, Brian arrived in Davenport, Iowa, where he attended Palmer College of Chiropractic. It was there that he met Lisa who was working at a health food store who initially thought Brian was a secret shopper, so she always made sure to offer him a sample of chewable Vitamin C. Brian, on the other hand, thought she was flirting with him because she always offered him a sample of Chewable Vitamin C. Forty-six years later, they were still flirting over chewable Vitamin C.
After graduating from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1982, Brian and Lisa moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where they opened a chiropractic clinic on Albert Pike Rd. Together they raised their four children: Jesse, Jack, Hannah, and Ann. Brian later earned a Master's degree in Biomechanical Trauma from Lynn University in 2007. For 45 years, he proudly served the Hot Springs community as the owner of Family Care Chiropractic Center, making a difference in the life of his patients on a daily basis.
Brian quickly became an active and beloved member of the Hot Springs community. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, the Freemasons, and First United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and sang in the choir. Over the years, he coached soccer and basketball, encouraging all players with an unmistakable booming voice that could be heard across any field or gym. He was a self-published author, guitar enthusiast, and amateur poet with his wife Lisa as his muse.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lisa; his children Jesse (Leslie) Reilly of New Orleans, Louisiana; Jack (Kate) Reilly of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Hannah (Randy) Strope of Fayetteville, Arkansas; and Ann (Colin) Gearity of Fayetteville, Arkansas; as well as his sisters Linda (Walter) Keane of Freeport, New York, Loretta Reilly of Honolulu, Hawaii, and brother John (Iris) Reilly of Long Beach, NY. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Donald Reilly; his mother, Antoinette Nanette Reilly, brothers Paul and Ron Reilly, and his best bud, Mugsy the dog.
Brian was one of the most generous men you could ever meet, generous with his time, his interest in others, his love, his talents, and his compliments. He was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. While he was an incredible father, coach, cheerleader, and chiropractor, the role in which he truly shone was being "Papa B" to Isaiah, Ethan, Wilson, Owen, Connor, Porter, Margaret, Ella, Fletcher, and Otis.
He was always ready to wrestle, cook breakfast with too much pepper, play guitar with passion, cheer loudly at every game, wear funny costumes (which might also be considered his normal clothes), buy all the snacks from the concession stand, play any silly game, read books, and do whatever it took to make his grandchildren smile. One grandson even learned the alphabet as "A, Papa B, C, D, E…"
Brian loved Mardi Gras and Halloween. He loved spending time with friends, playing basketball, riding bikes, and hiking. He asked the questions people probably weren't supposed to ask, told his favorite stories more than once, and never stopped cursing like the true New Yorker he was. He also made the absolute best margarita (PFM – IYKYK). He leaves behind approximately 221 unfinished projects, 20,425 unread emails, and countless loved ones who are better for having known him.
The Celebration of Life ceremony will be on May 9, 2026, at 5:00 -8:00 PM at Cedar Glades Pavilion, 461 Wildcat RD. Hot Springs, AR 71913. Heavy appetizers and drinks will be served.
