Obituary

Carlos Smith Espino, 30, of Hot Springs, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021, in Hot Springs, AR. Carlos was born in Little Rock, AR to Carlos Espino Solorio and Teresa Smith on November 6, 1990.
Carlos is preceded in death by his mother, Teresa Smith.
He went to school at Hot Springs High School in Hot Springs, graduated in 2009. He married Phylicia Griffin on December 17, 2013, in Hot Springs. He earned a technical certification for corrections in July 2017 in Pine Bluff, Ar. He worked as Correctional Officer at Ouachita River Unit in Malvern, Ar. Later, worked his way up to Sergeant in 2020 at Omega Technical Violators Center. He was a member at Greater St. Paul Baptist church.
Carlos is survived by his wife; Phylicia Espino, children, Teresa, Ruben, and Daniel. Sisters; Melissa Furr and Cassandra Martinez, father Carlos Espino Solorio, Kathy Lancaster, and a host of many family, friends, co-workers.
Memorial service will be held at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Service Friday, August 6, 2021, from 12:30 - 1:30 pm. Family members only at this time.
