Clarice Jean Harvill, age 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on October 11, 2026, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Clarice was born on April 5, 1944, in San Diego, California. She was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Pate. Clarice graduated from high school in Booneville, Arkansas, and married Norman Greg Harvill. She earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and, later in life, two master’s degrees from Louisiana Tech University. Clarice began her career as a high school teacher of physical education and science. To provide her children with a better life, she transitioned to the pulp and paper industry, finishing her career at International Paper’s Mansfield Mill.

Clarice enjoyed many hobbies, including reading, cooking ethnic foods, cross-stitching, quilting, and, most importantly, collecting fabrics from around the world. She had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed traveling to India, Thailand, and Europe, as well as taking solo RV trips throughout the United States.

Clarice is survived by her daughter, Shelley Harvill, and her husband, Dan Campbell; her son, Steve Harvill, and his wife, Lisa; and her grandson, Cord Montgomery Harvill.

Because food, friends, family, and good times were important to Clarice, a celebration of life will be held at Smokin in Style BBQ on Wednesday, October 14, at noon. All of Clarice’s friends are warmly invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clarice’s honor to the Hot Springs Village Animal Welfare League at hsvawl.org.
