"This Is Her Story"

"But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Matt: 24:26

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted: A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; Ecc 3:1-2,4

A Time to Be Born

Friday, February 14, 1964 was an exciting day for Claude and Daisy Glover Woods.  They received a gift that was never forgotten, it was the time Claudia Mae Woods was born.  She soon began Mae Mae to family and friends alike.

A Time to Die

On Monday, September 24, 2018 at 12:25 am, Claudia peacefully made her earthly transition to be in the presence of the Lord forever.   Those completing the journey before her include her parents, Claude and Daisy Glover Woods; her bother, Jimmy Jones; in-laws, L.C. Brown and Clotiel Lewis Brown; a nephew, Charles "C.J." Hill, Jr.; and her extended family.

A Time to Plant

Claudia attended the Hot Springs School System. She was a graduate of Hot Springs High School Class of 1983.  She later attended National Park College.  She was a proud Trojan.  You could be assured if the Trojan's were playing the Brown's where present.  Claudia would be louder than the cheerleaders and dance team.  She didn't have any problems voicing her concerns. She was also an avid Razorback Fan and a die heart Cowboy's Fan.  Claudia had great work ethics and was not one to sit idle.  She was a former employee of the Arky House Shoe Store, Luby's and Wyatt's Cafeteria, Garland Nursing & Rehab Center, The Arlington Hotel.  She was working with the Carrigan's on any and all special events, be it a wedding, reunion, birthday party, banquets for the church and any other functions her service was needed.  Claudia was presently employee with CHI-St. Vincent Home Health Department, where she has been employed for over 25 years. She was loved by her co-workers.

A Time to Serve

Claudia was a faithful member of Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Douglas E. Jones.  When the Jones' family came to Union in June of 1992, Claudia was one of the first people to greet the Jones. She is now the first of the group to pass away.  Claudia exhibited her faith at UMBC by serving as a Sunday School Teacher and later as Superintendent, Alto Choir Member, Dance Ministry, Celebrate Recovery, Pastoral Care Ministry, Supervisor of the Youth Dancer, Transportation Ministry, Finance Ministry and the Youth Ministry.  She was the type of person who was doing whatever was needed and never complained about it. If one word was used to sum up her life it would be, servant.

A Time to Love

In 1982 while working at The Arlington Hotel she met the love of her life, Glen Brown, Sr.  They were married July 23, 1988.  Claudia was planning a big 30-year celebration but later decided to plan an intimate trip for just the two of them.  They shared a very happy time in Texas.

A Time to Grow

The Browns were blessed with a daughter and son, Toya and Glen Brown, Jr.  They were later blessed with another son and daughter, Jimmy and Zomar Brown.  The Browns were blessed to be able to care for foster children.  They had several children during their time with the Garland County Foster Care Program.  They also cared for their own nieces and nephews and anyone else who needed a loving family.  If you lived in the Brown's home you were certain to attend church on Sunday's and Wednesday's.  She instilled in all the children the need for the Lord and education.  Glen was given the name Mr. Mom or Daycare Daddy a title he wears well.

A Time to Mourn & Rejoice

Although we mourn we do not mourn as those who have no hope.  We rejoice in the fact that we will see our dear Claudia again.  Her departure has left a lasting impression in the heart of her devoted husband of 30 years, Glen Brown, Sr; her loving children, Latoya Brown, Glen Brown, Jr, Zamor Brown and, Jimmy Brown; one grandson and the apple of her eyes, Gavin Brown; two nieces raised as daughters, D'Wanna Reddick and LaTasha Meadows; two special children that became as daughters, Stacie Smith and Shayletha Nolen; her siblings, Peggy (Mike) Starks, Johnny Meadows, Annie B. Glenn and, Camille Hannah; two aunts, Julia Mae Jackson and Rosie Lee Graves; a host of foster children,  nieces, nephews, her Union Baptist Family, CHI- St. Vincent Home Health and a host of extended family and friends.

Time to Receive Her Reward

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
