Obituary

.

Clotiel Lewis Brown in her 81 st of life answered the call of the Lord on Sunday, February 18, 2018.  When the angels of Lord appeared she peacefully left the troubles of this world and traveled with them. She was born September 19, 1936 in Altheimer, AR to Ed and Willie Ruth Day Lewis, Jr.  They preceded her in death as well as her former husband and the father of her children, L.C. Brown, one son, James Lewis; brothers, Leo, Sylvester, Cleophus, Walter and Theman "Bobby" Lewis; grandchildren, Kanaana Brown and Charles "C.J" Hill, Jr.; one great grandchild, Brenasia Brown

Clotiel was very proud to be from Altheimer, AR.  She would often tell stories of how she had to pick and pull cotton, take care of the gardens and the animals.  In her own rights she was declared as a "Farmer".

When asked about her children she would proudly say "I have ten (chilins) eight boys and only two girls, and a whole bunch of grandchillins."

She retired from St. Joseph's Hospital and National Park Medical Center. She then became a private sitter for the elderly.

Clotiel was a faithful member of the Union Baptist Church.  She served on the Mother's Board, Sunday School Ministry, Usher Ministry and the Roberta Jackson Circle.  She was known best at UMBC as "The Shouting Usher." If the spirit hit her dancing down the aisle she would go.

Those left to cherish her memories include her children, LC Brown, Jr. of Fordyce, Lee Brown of Monticello, Larry Brown, Freddie (Carol) Brown, Sr., Glen (Claudia) Brown, Sr., Minnie Brown and Linda (Taiwo) Jenty all of Hot Springs, Lesley (Beverly) Brown of Kapolei, HI, Willie Brown of North Little, and Gary (Gloria) Brown of Pine Bluff.; sisters and brother, Odester Lewis, Jamie (Jimmy) Colton and Dennis Lewis all of Hot Springs; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-six great grandchildren; a caravan of nieces, nephews and  extended family and friends that she truly loved.

A celebration of life service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Union Baptist Church 219 Gulpha Street, Hot Springs, AR with Pastor Douglas E. Jones, officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, February 23, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
