Specialist Curtis Frierson Jr. departed this life at 23 on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born on July 4, 2000, in Helena, Arkansas, to Curtis Frierson Sr. and Cynthia Dixon Johnson.
Specialist Frierson confessed his life in Christ as a teenager and attended New Life Christian Fellowship Church under the leadership of Pastor James W. Frierson Jr. Curtis graduated from Hot Springs World Class High School in 2018. He pursued higher education at Henderson State University, though he later decided that college was not for him and chose to join the United States Army. Curtis achieved the rank of E-4 Specialist.
Specialist Frierson was the eldest of three children. Curtis will be remembered for his athleticism and his generous heart. He knew how to be a friend and show himself friendly. Curtis loved his family deeply and often connected with various family members.
Specialist Frierson is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Calvin Frierson Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Edward (Alberta) Frierson; one aunt, Delois Frierson; cousin Malik Issah; maternal grandparents, Bertha Strong and Sam Dixon Sr.; uncle Crafton Dixon; aunts Annie Beatrice Dixon Gage, Dorothy Dixon Taylor, and Lula Mae Vance.
Specialist Frierson leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Cynthia (Ross) Johnson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; one brother, Christian Frierson of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; six sisters, Chasidy Frierson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Alberta Frierson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Simone Frierson of Memphis, Tennessee, Jasmine Goldsbery of Nashville, Tennessee, Quantessa (Noah) Green of Houston, Texas, Shaquilla White of Memphis, Tennessee, and Kannia Jones of Memphis, Tennessee. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and coworkers. His best friends Sheri Neal Martin, JaMeshia Stillwell, Otis Wesley, Jordan Taylor, Warren Butler, Cameron Laine, Takiesa Chambers, and Virgil "Peewee" Doss.
The visitation will be held on Friday, July 05, 2024, 2:00 PM - 5:00 pm at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Service 336 E. Grand Ave Hot Springs, AR 71901. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 06, 2024, at 12:00 noon at St. Mark Baptist Church 542 Crescent Ave. Hot Springs, AR 71901. The burial will be private.
