The Selfless Giver

(Black Diamond: Rare, Priceless, Tough)

A gift opens the way and ushers the giver into the presence of the Great.

Proverbs 18:16; The gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to

what one does not have. 2 Cor 8:12

Cynthia L. Miller, bornin the City of Colón, Rep. of Panamá, was the third of six children borne of the marital union of Mildred Smith Miller and Clarence L. Miller. Her arrival into this world on May 21 st , 1940 was a time of joy for her mother "Millie" and her father Clarence but it was her sister, Cecilia who was most delighted about having a little sister.

Cynthia attended The Blake Academy (High School) and excelled as a Math and Social Studies student. Throughout her Elementary and Secondary High School years the "Little Sister", Cynthia would become the fearsome defender and protector of the "Big Sister", Cecilia. Their life-long relationship could be described as The Protector and the Diplomat.

Cynthia always had a close relationship with all her siblings: Cecil L Miller (deceased), Cecilia L Miller-McNish (deceased), Corina L Miller-Deane (deceased), Carlos L Miller of Colón, Rep of Panamá, Carmen L Miller-Tapper of Colón, Rep of Panamá. She was also very close to all her cousins and for a long time she was thought to be another daughter of her uncle Javan and thus sister of her cousins, the Smiths: Judith, Javan Jr., Lucilda, Rigoberto, Arturo, Florencia, Armando and Horacio.

As was common her family (they were extended before it became a "thing"), Cynthia's Aunt Keren Barnabas and her four daughters; Veleska, Violeta(D), Vilma(D) and Julia were regular fixtures under the same roof despite having their residence more than 50 miles away. Notwithstanding the rich contributions of a loving family and an amalgamation covering some five generations under a Rainbow in a distant City, by far the richest and most cherished contribution in Cynthia's life no doubt (as expressed by the deceased) came from her "Granny"; the wise and wonderful Ms. Florence Eva (Mae) Smith. Cynthia gained fame or some might say with a wry smile, infamy for being her Granny's favorite.

Cynthia's lifespan lasted for 79 years and she said her final good-byes on July 11, 2019.

This child of God was a hard worker who continually put aside even her basic needs in order that her children, grand children and even great-grand children could have enough. Her memory and selfless acts of love will continue to live in the hearts and minds of her son, Rev. Eddie Harrow and daughter-in-law, Stefanie (Camden, AR); daughter, Debra Miller (Colón, Panamá); son, Walter Williams (Colón, Panamá); daughter, Janice Williams (Pine Bluff, AR); daughter, Virginia Miller De Jimenez (Colón, Panamá) and daughter, Kathrissa Miller (Colón, Panamá).

Her 17 grand children and 23 great-grand children also call her blessed but foremost of importance, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she acknowledged as a young teen calls her blessed and now welcomes her into her rest until we all meet at the wedding feast.
