Obituary

Daniel Madison, 62, a resident of Chidester, Arkansas, transitioned in Fort Smith, Arkansas, on Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was born on December 4, 1962, in Reader, Arkansas, to Albert Curtis and Aresia Powell-Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Albert Lee Madison Jr., Also his brother, Jerry C. Madison, who has been missing since November 2021.

Daniel, affectionately known as "Dan," was a quiet-spirited man who was also known for being smart, hardworking, tough, and, as many would say, stubborn. He attended Chidester Public Schools and later continued his education at Job Corps in Dallas, Texas, where he earned his certification in Heavy Equipment Operation, following in the footsteps of his older brother, Albert Jr.

After returning home to Chidester, Arkansas, he began working for Perritt & Victers Construction Company of Magnolia, AR. He later worked for Dirtman Excavating, Inc. with Kance Stinnette. Despite his declining health, Daniel remained a dedicated Equipment Operator until he lost a limb due to complications from diabetes and dialysis.

One of his favorite hobbies was buying non-working equipment, junk cars, and trucks, and repairing them until they were running again. What others saw as junk or trash, Daniel saw as treasures.

Daniel leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters: Erica Lula Marie Madison of Fort Worth, TX, and SheQueen Madison of Chidester, AR. One son: Daniel Madison Jr., U.S. Army, stationed in Alaska. Three grandchildren: Kendrell Davis, Emoney Brown, and Madison Brown, all of Fort Worth, TX. Five sisters: Bertha (Donnie Ray) Gulley of Reader, AR; Eartha Hegler of Camden, AR; Mercie Carrigan of Prescott, AR; Gildra Archer of Fordyce, AR; and Recia (Ivory) Hall of Camden, AR. One brother, Samuel (Kathy) Madison of Reader, AR, and special recognition to his best friend, Roland Jenkins. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Madison Temple Church of God, 364 Madison St., Camden, AR., with Elder Richard E. Madison officiating.
