Obituary

Darla Jean Edwards Ridgeway age 68, of Hot Springs passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 22, 2019.  She was born June 4, 1950 in Hot Springs to Paul Holder and Bertha Pauline Ayers Edwards.  They preceded her in death as well as her brothers, Alfred Lee, David Paul, and Johnny Earl Edwards; son-in-law, David Reynolds.

Darla was a graduate of Hot Springs High Class of 1968.  She still enjoyed her monthly outings with the ladies of her class called the girlfriends group.  During her working career she worked for ABT/ Regions Bank, Alliance Bank and retired from the Garland County Assessor's Office.  Darla never wanted anyone to stand in line (especially her friends), so she would always say, "step over here I'll take care of you".  She had a heart of gold and was full of energy.  She was an avid gardener, photographer, and decorator.  Darla loved to go "junk" shopping, often finding treasures to decorate her homes or to give away.  She loved to rescue and foster animals, especially dogs.  Darla never met a stranger and always had a smile to share.

Darla was a member of St. Mary's of the Springs Catholic Church.  She was a proud 6-year survivor of Breast Cancer.

Survivors include her husband of 31 years (June 25), William "Bill" Ridgeway of Hot Springs; her children, Jennifer (Michael) McCurry of Benton, Melissa Reynolds of Hot Springs and, Marc (Christina) Ridgeway of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law, Sonja Edwards of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Lindsay Roberts, Drew (Mandy) McCurry, Karrie (Zach) Johnson, Zachary McCurry, Jeffrey (Sarah) Lynch, Brooke Reynolds, Donnie (Monique) Reynolds, Joshua Lynch, Malory Maranda and Austin Ridgeway; great grandchildren, Hailey and Mattison Roberts, Veronica and Davidray Reynolds and, baby Johnson coming in July; her special furry children, Harley and Daisy; a host of special nieces, nephews and extended family.

A rosary will be said Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 9:30 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's of the Springs Catholic Church with Father George Sanders as celebrant.
