Darrell Edgar Underwood, 85, of Watts, Oklahoma passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021, in Baptist Spring Hill Hospital, North Little Rock, Arkansas from complications from Covid 19.

Darrell was born on June 5, 1936, in Baron, Adair County, Oklahoma. He was the son of Douglas Underwood and Mabel "Cagle" Underwood. Family and friends referred to him as "Gabby"; nicknamed after Actor Gabby Hayes. Darrell moved to Fowler CA in 1944 and onto Clovis CA with his family, attended Clovis Union High School; worked as Heavy Equipment Operator and Pipeline construction. Darrell enjoyed boating, water skiing, camping, horseback riding and had raised animals of all kinds. He enjoyed going weekly to the swap meet, collecting tools, planting gardens, and spending time with "Dog" his dog. He recently started raising chickens hoping to go into the chicken business. A true mechanic and inventor, he improved ways to get jobs done.

Darrell was married to Norene "Edwards" Cholakian. They had 5 children, one son Darrell Anthony Underwood; four daughters Brenda Sue "Underwood" Henderson Parker, Rebecca Joy "Underwood" Keast, Kathy Ann "Underwood" Shields, and Julie Dawn Underwood.

Darrell is survived by his sister Loretta Sue "Underwood" McDaniel of Madera CA, son Darrell Anthony Underwood of Terra Bella CA, daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Sam Parker of Fresno CA, daughter and son-in-law Rebecca and David Keast of Fresno CA, daughter Kathy Underwood Shields of Fresno CA, daughter Julie Underwood of Fresno CA. 5 grandchildren Robin "Henderson" Horne husband Mike of Hollister CA, Michelle Shields of Fresno CA, Shannon "Shields" Bringetto husband Jarrett of Madera CA, Brittney Keast of Fresno CA, Patrick Shields of Fresno CA. 5 great-grandchildren.

Graveside Service at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Clovis Cemetery, 303 N. Villa Avenue, CA 93512. Pastor Mitch Ribera Officiating, Clovis Hills Church.
