David Zibach
Kiddy
Mar 28, 1960 — Dec 12, 2025
David Zibach Kiddy 65, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, transitioned on Friday, December 12, 2025. David "Never Let the Truth Get in the Way of a Good Story" Zibach Kiddy left this world to experience his greatest tale, amongst the Celestial Choir. The thesaurus blushes with shame over its limited ability to describe the force we called David, but here we go.
David entered the earthly realm as the original Florida Man. Born in Winter Haven, Florida, the nonpareil child of David Lee Kiddy, Jr. and Geneva Richardson burst onto the scene and never after took his foot off the gas.
Leaving High School to become a Navy Chef, David would be recruited into a military special investigations force that laid the groundwork for "Miami Vice" a decade later and for the "The Hawaii Five-0" reboot four decades later.
David left the military in search of a life that he was materially unfit to engage in. The wife and two children who joined him in this pursuit were redacted in history for their own protection. David realized that going faster was his only hope, and the only nitrous left was to be gay.
One gay marriage (and two gay divorces) later, David had squeezed almost all the juice from life. He had shocked the world as a Deputy Sheriff, an Ice Road Trucker, a Bartender, a Hostage Negotiator, a restaurant manager, a Himalayan mountain guide, and, in his most poignant role, a Cab driver. David would not admit to all of these, but he told of deeds only surmountable by such a man.
As he raced into the hairpin turns and slaloms that constituted the final stretch of his race, David realized he needed a navigator at least thirty years his junior to match his energy. He found that pairing in William Taylor McDonald. Taylor helped steer David's boundless energy, and a handful of years later, on October 31, 2019 (to be exact), the two tied the knot in proper kilts and in true Celtic tradition.
Holding fast to their shared vows, "You are blood of my blood, bone of my bone. I give you my body, that we might be one. I give you my spirit, until our life is done," Taylor held David until he became part of the infinite, woven back into the Universe.
In the near future, Taylor will call us together to observe the unitary greatness that David Zibach Kiddy has become. Until that day, on this day, we, together, raise a salute to the glittering firmament and its newest star: our Dave.
Our final toast to Dave will be held February 21, 2026, from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm. at Brick House Grill, 801 Central Ave. #24, Hot Springs, AR 71901. After 5:00 pm Join us for continuing the celebration around a bonfire at 364 Owl Creek Cutoff in Royal.
