Mr. & Mrs. Irving (Deartis) Marshall, Sr.

Irving Eugene Marshall, Sr. in his 74th season and Deartis M. Flanigan Marshall, in her 73rd season faced their sudden and untimely death on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. Irving was born February 16, 1940 in Kansas City, MO to Andrew and Marguerite Redmond Marshall, Jr. He was a graduate of the Historic Langston High School. Irving was a former employee of Reynolds Metal Company, Featherlite and City Electric and Plumbing Company. He was an accomplished carpenter. Deartis was born July 27, 1941 in St. Louis, MO to Deathers and Minnie Rae Flanigan. She received her formal education in St. Louis, MO. She enjoyed music and painting. She was a great mother and wife. The Marshall's were married for thirty-six years. They moved to California and later relocated back to Arkansas.
Irving is survived by his son, Irving (Kimberly)Marshall, Jr and their children, Bianca, Macalah and Caleb all of Maumelle; his siblings, Eddie Marshall of Las Vegas, NV, Charles (Juanita) Marshall of Jackson, TN, Clifford (Lea) Marshall of Tallahassee, FL, Theodore (Charlene) Marshall of Hot Springs, AR and Martha James of Bryant, AR; Deartis is survived by her son, Henry (Carol) Walton and their children, Tremont Walton and Justin Turner all of Memphis, TN; her siblings, Deathers Flanigan, Mickey Flanigan and Marcella Small all of St. Louis, MO, Dorothy Flanigan of Chicago, IL and May Alice King of Houston, TX.
A service of healing will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday at Woodridge Church of Christ 133 Woodridge St. with Brother Rickey Smith officiating.
The family will be at 219 Lowery Street
