Debra Jean McLain, 72, of Hot Springs, AR, transitioned on Friday, December 27, 2024. Debra was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas on May 5, 1952, to Hobart Palmer and Marcell Harris.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Fred McLain, her brother, Franklin Helton, and her grandparents.

Debra was a 1970 graduate of Fountain Lake High School, Debra furthered her education at Garland County Community College and Henderson State University, earning degrees in social work. Her passion for helping others was evident throughout her life, and she was known for her compassionate nature. People sought her out for her wisdom and support.

Debra had a unique blend of humor and intelligence. She was often referred to as the "mean sister" and the "smart sister," bringing both laughter and sharp insights to those around her. She had a remarkable sense of humor and loved making people laugh. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life. One of her most cherished memories was her many trips to Hawaii, a dream fulfilled.

Debra is survived by her children, Bobby Sims, Heather (John) Bradley, and Robyn Salter; her siblings, Janey Threadgill, Candi Patterson, Curtis (Lynda) Helton, Kim (Darrel) Anderson, Richard Pierce, and Jim Pierce; as well as 10 grandchildren, Ryan, Sky, Alexys, Serena, Eli, Andrew, Zac, Blake, Abby, Collin, and her great-grandchildren. A host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 02, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Church, 670 Panama St, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
