Obituary

Earl Curtis Dilworth, 83, of Little Rock, AR, transitioned on September 06, 2024, at Springs of John Barrow Nursing Home. He was born on February 15, 1941, in Bearden, AR, to Lewis Dilworth and Bita Dean Juneil.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Johnson Dilworth, John T. Dilworth, and Lewis F. Dilworth; sisters: Earlene Dilworth, Natalie Gilmore, Jean Broughton, and Reta Mae Bark; and brother-in-law Azell Patterson Jr.

Earl was married on March 27, 1967, to Foyce M. Patterson. Together, they had one son, Craig Dilworth.

Earl was a dedicated educator and taught at McClellan High School, Mills High School, and the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He also worked at the Arkansas Democrat. A faithful member of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Earl's life was marked by service to his community and his students. He had a love for reading books and spent much of his time collecting antiques, which brought him great joy.

Earl was survived by his beloved son, Craig Dilwarth; brother-in-law, Lee (Barbara) Patterson Sr.; his son's caregiver Lee Patterson Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Springs of John Barrow Nursing Home and Hospice for their compassionate care.

The graveside funeral will be held Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 11:00 am the visitation will be one hour prior to the service. At Greenhill Cemetery 2850 Hempstead #16 Prescott, Arkansas 71857.
