Emma Louise White Wells age 72, of Hot Springs, passed away peacefully shortly after midnight, Wednesday, January 1, 2020. She was the daughter of James and Earline Marshall White. They preceded her in death as well as, her siblings, Charles Steward, Sylvester White, and Debra White.
Louise, as she was known to most attended the Historic Langston High School. She worked for the famous" Mrs. Miller's" for over 35 years only retiring due to the closing of the restaurant. She was featured in a book about Mrs. Miller's that displayed her cooking skills as well as, comments from customers who would often request her to prepare their steaks and lobsters as only she could. Louise loved to cook and one of her many favorites was her Carrot Cakes. She had a green thumb and always had beautiful flowers that were admired by many.
Louise was a former member of St. Thomas Baptist Church. She later joined the Living Waters Church of God in Christ fellowship and remained a faithful member until her passing. She exhibited her faith by serving on the Mother's Board and helping to dress the communion table for the first Sunday. She served as a volunteer for P.H.O.E.B.E. and Sr. Companion.
Louise's passing has left a void in the heart of her beloved family, Joseph (Ozebie) White, Wanda (Elvin) Canady, and Geraldine White all of Hot Springs, James (Darlene) White of Houston, TX and, Willie (Lynn) White of Atlanta, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2020, at Living Waters Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
The family will receive friends at 204 Cypressvale Street and 127 Ivy Street, Hot Springs, AR
