Eric Demarco
Jones
Dec 6, 1976 — Aug 22, 2018
"Eric's Life Journey from the Heart of a Mother"
My son, Eric DeMarco Jones was born to Peggy Sue Williams on December 6, 1976 in Prescott, AR. Eric was a very good baby and he was not often sick. As he grew older he loved being around his great grandmother, Julia Mae Williams and his Aunt Elaine. Elaine took very good care of him (most of the time rocking him to sleep as he sucked his thumb). After the passing of my grandmother and his great grandmother Julia Mae, Eric and I moved to Little Rock in 1980 to start our new life. We joined Rocky Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. Eric was baptized in 1989 by the late Rev. Cleo Austin. I made sure that he was very active in church.
School was very exciting for Eric, being an only child, he enjoyed being around other children. He attended College Station Kindergarten, Wakefield Elementary, Watson Elementary. During his elementary years he played on the city league football team coached by Russell Guess. Eric also attended Cloverdale Jr. High School. He graduated from McClellan High School in 1995. Eric joined the Army Reserve shortly after high school. He later attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. He later ventured out to other jobs and eventully he pursued a career in the medical field. He took courses at Eastern College, St. Vincent and Baptist Hospitals. He later worked for UAMS, St. Vincent's Infirmary, Chenal Healthcare & Rehab, Premier Nursing Facility, North Little and Little Rock Post-Acute Rehab.
Some weeks ago, Eric said, "Mother I think I want to stop working in the medical field. I'm tired, I've put in lots of hours working, I think that I want to find something else to do". On August 22, 2018 God honored his request when he called him to a place where it is written: "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. Eric now has something else to do.
Memories will last forever in the heart of his mother, Peggy Williams-Grave (Curtis) of Little Rock; aunt, Elaine (Paul) Brown and their sons, Phillip and Payton; cousin, Stephanie Jackson; father, Cephas Jones; great uncle, Chester Graham; great great-great aunt who is 109 years old, Elsie Vanhook; aunts, uncles and cousins of the Jones family and a host of extended family in Hope, Prescott, Little Rock, Arkansas, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Georgia, Missouri, California, Tennessee and other corners of the universe, including many friends and associates he has met along the way.
RestiIn Peace, my son
Love your mother
Peggy Sue Williams-Grave
