Evelyn Louise Surman, 66, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, transitioned to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. She was born on January 20, 1960, to Elvis Surman and Inez Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Evelyn devoted many years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant, working in numerous nursing homes where she compassionately cared for others. Her nurturing spirit and kind heart made a lasting impact on those she served.

She lovingly embraced her role as a stepmother to three children, whom she treated as her own: Stephen Collins of Texarkana, Texas; Zachary Collins of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Tonya Collins Scroggins of Hope, Arkansas. She later welcomed three children of her own: Joshua Surman Collins of Texarkana, Texas; Troy Collins of Texarkana, Texas; and Dennise Collins of Mineral Springs, Arkansas.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children; her brothers, James Surman of Honduras, Elvis Surman of Colorado, Lee Surman of Texarkana, Texas, and Billy Ray Surman of Texarkana, Arkansas; her sisters, Darlene Surman of Dallas, Texas, Emma Walker of Texarkana, Texas, and Gloria Clark; 24 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and her best friend, who was more like a sister, Betsy Wilson.
