Obituary

Gerald Lynn Bryant,70, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, transitioned on Thursday, June 11, 2026. He was born on December 30, 1955, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Paul Bryant and Theresie Denson. He was the tenth of eleven children.

Gerald graduated from Arkadelphia High School and chose to enter the workforce rather than pursue college. Through hard work and determination, he built a life for himself and his family. He owned and operated a lawn care service and worked at Pactiv in Malvern for three years before beginning what would become a 38-year career with Reynolds Metals. During his time there, Gerald became known for his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic. He was the only employee able to operate every machine in the facility and developed techniques that are still used today. His knowledge and willingness to help others earned him deep respect from both coworkers and leadership.

Gerald was also a proud member of the Blackstone Brotherhood in Arkadelphia. The values of loyalty, integrity, and brotherhood that he embraced through this organization remained with him throughout his life.

In 2000, Gerald met the love of his life, Corma Jean Bryant. After just three months of dating, they were united in marriage in February 2001. Together, they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. Gerald was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked tirelessly to provide for and protect those he loved. Family was his greatest joy, and no matter the time or circumstance, he was always just a phone call away.

Gerald enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, shooting pool, and working with his hands. A true craftsman, he was always building, fixing, or repairing something. A cowboy at heart, he was rarely seen without his boots and hat and never missed an opportunity to watch his favorite Westerns.

Although he had many hobbies, Gerald often said his greatest joy was spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He treasured every moment and took pride in creating lasting memories with his family.

Gerald was raised in a God-fearing home and accepted Christ at an early age. He united with West Gum Springs Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder J.T. Gilmore and later became a member of New Birth Fellowship under Pastor Tyrone Burnell. His faith remained a guiding force throughout his life, and even in his final moments, he continued to pray and trust in God.

Gerald never liked to sit still. If there was nothing to do, he would find something to do. He believed in staying active, working hard, and making the most of every day. Throughout his life, he formed countless friendships and touched many lives with his kindness, wisdom, and strength.

In 2015, Gerald began facing health challenges. For eleven years, he fought with remarkable strength and determination. He never allowed his illness to define him. He smiled through the pain, rarely complained, and continued to fight with courage. Even in his final moments, he displayed the resilience that defined his life, always finding light, laughter, and reasons to smile.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, George Denson, Estella (McClanahan) Conner, and James and Alice (Blacknall) Bryant; and his siblings, Willie Reese Bryant, Emma Lee Freeman, Henry Paul Bryant, Flossie Mae Snowden, Stella Marie Jefferson, Nancy Carol Walker, and Willie Edward Bryant, Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 26 years, Corma Jean Bryant; his children, Jonathan (Kelly) Gentry, Sonya Bryant, JaNaire Bryant, Alex Moss, Kesha Cummings, Travis Cummings, and Shamone Dennis-Bryant; and his nephew, Michael F. Ross, whom he loved and raised as a son and who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his siblings, Dorothy Felecien of Stockton, California; Roger (Bobbie) Bryant of Prescott, Arkansas; Flecia (James) Bass of Arkadelphia, Arkansas; and Belinda Bryant of Fort Worth, Texas, along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 11:00 am at New Birth Fellowship, 113 Buena Vista, Hot Springs, AR 71913.
