Geraldine "Tete Gerries" Washington of Hot Springs, at the tender age of 95 years young and three days went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at National Park Medical Center.  She was born February 5, 1923 and it was her desire to see her 95th birthday and thanks be to God she made it and then some.

She was born to the late Fannie Washington and K.D. Grissom in Magnolia, AR.   She was predeceased by her siblings.

She was a graduate of the Historic Langston High School.  She worked forty years as a private housekeeper and caregiver for the Reed & Fish Families.  She also worked for the Ruelle Dress Shop.  As a young person she professed a hope in Christ and united with the Cottrell Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church.  She loved being an Auntie to all her nieces and nephews, even the kids next door.

She leaves to cherish her memory a brother, Claude Grissom of Prescott; nieces, Laverne Sears, Ruthell McCray, Margie Holly, Brenda Washington, Angela Washington, Sheila Thompson, Fedett Johnson and Kyra Sears; nephews, Billy Washington, Sr., Sammy George, Jerry Moore and Derrick Sears; a host of great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial celebration of life will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Cottrell Chapel C.M.E. Church 698 East Grand Ave.
