Gladys Williams Tucker age 96, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2020.  She was the only girl of five children born to Bill and Lucy Williams in Arkadelphia, AR, on May 13, 1923.  They preceded her in death as well as her husband, Andrew Tucker; four brothers, Mack, BW, Earnest, and Garland Williams.

She married Andrew Lee Tucker although they didn't have any children together, she adopted Rev. Charles Smith as her son.

Gladys was a former member of Eureka Baptist Church for over 50 years, then she joined Ebenezer Baptist Church.  She was currently a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church for many years.  She served as President of the Missionary Society at each church.  Gladys was known for her beautiful sounding voice.  She loved to sing and one of her favorite songs was, "Lord I Tried".  Gladys was a very classy and well-dressed lady who would always wear a hat to match her beautiful outfits.  She felt underdressed if she wasn't properly dressed for worship service.  Most people can't wait for retirement, but not Gladys.  She was still employed with CSO Head Start as a Foster Grandparent.  She was still driving herself to work, the grocery store, the beauty shop, church and anywhere else she felt she needed to go.

Her memories will be cherished by her son, Charles (Stephannie) Smith, and her grandson, Laron Smith; the children of her husband, Dorothy (Paul) Thompson, Barbara (George) McDaniel, Ledell (Linda) Tucker and Michael (Rhonda) Tucker;  a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family and friends, and her Gethsemane Church Family.

A service of love and release will be held Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Smith delivering the eulogy and Pastor Johnny Davis, officiating.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: A VISITATION FOR MRS. TUCKER WILL BE HELD, THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2020 AT THE FUNERAL HOME FROM 3:00 - 5:00 PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME.  BURIAL WILL BE HELD FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2020 AT 10:00 AM IN HELMS CEMETERY, ARKADELPHIA, AR.
