Herbert Nathaniel
White
Jan 11, 1962 — Oct 13, 2025
Herbert Nathaniel White, age 63, of Fayetteville, Georgia, transitioned peacefully at home on Monday, October 13, 2025, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on January 11, 1962, at Ouachita Hospital in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Ivery "Taipan" White Jr. and Estaleen "Red" Scales White.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Vearniastine Lewis; nephews Maurice Adams, Jeremy Duvall, Joshua White, Walter William Grant IV; and close friend Carl McKinney.
Herbert was raised in Hot Springs, where he accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. He attended Jones Elementary, Central Junior High, and Hot Springs High School.
On August 27, 1986, Herbert married the love of his life, Angelia Hall, in Hot Springs. Together, they began their life's journey in Jacksonville, later residing in Sherwood and North Little Rock before relocating to Okinawa, Japan, in 1996.
A hardworking man of many talents, Herbert began his career in construction with CDI Construction Company, where he contributed to building the Oaklawn racetrack stables and the Park Plaza Mall in Little Rock. He later worked as a cable technician at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa. Upon returning to Arkansas, he established his own lawn service and handyman business, a passion he continued until his illness in 2022. Herbert also helped build the rear addition to his mother's home and was known for designing award-winning Martin Luther King parade floats for St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
Herbert was a gifted, self-taught craftsman who could build or repair nearly anything. If he didn't know how, he'd "sleep on it," and the solution would come to him in a dream. His standard of excellence was unmatched; if he couldn't do it right, he wouldn't do it at all. Known for his humility, fairness, and generosity, Herbert never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone feel at ease.
He will be remembered for his jovial spirit, playful sense of humor, and infectious laughter. Herbert loved fishing, working with his hands, watching classic movies, listening to old-school music, and helping others. Above all, he will be cherished for his kindness, craftsmanship, devotion to family, and unwavering faith throughout his illness.
Herbert leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife of 39 years, Angelia (Hall) White; his beloved son, Rahem Ahmad White; and his grand-dog, Seviin. His brothers, Ivery White III, Dennis (Mary Ann) White, Robert (Jo) White, and Frankie (Patricia) White His sisters, Glodine "Glo" White, Bettie Lou White, and Ann M. White His father-in-law: William D. Lewis Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: William (Eledy) Thomas, Vera Hall, Theresa Thomas, Alice Marie Hall, and Princess Clayton A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and dear friends, including Byron & Bryant McMichael and Kenneth "BB" Simpson
Herbert's life was a testament to faith, love, and craftsmanship. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness and excellence will live on through all who knew and loved him.
