Obituary

Jacqueline Ledoux Betts, 77, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, transitioned from this earthly life on Monday, October 5, 2026. She was born on July 9, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Ezekiel Betts Sr. and Agnes M. Ellison.

Jacqueline received her early education at Holy Cross in Los Angeles, California. She continued her education at Northridge University, where she earned a master’s degree in music. A hardworking and dedicated woman, Jacqueline spent many years working as an officer at the Federal Building in Los Angeles.

Jacqueline was a woman with many talents and interests. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and spending time playing games and keeping herself entertained on her tablet. Above all, she had a heart for caring for others. She was known throughout the neighborhood for helping care for everyone’s children, becoming a familiar and loving presence in the lives of many.

Those who knew Jacqueline will also remember her strong personality, sense of humor, and memorable words of wisdom. One of her favorite sayings was, “I brought you into this world, and I can take you out!” It was a phrase that family and friends came to know well and will undoubtedly remember with a smile.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her father, Ezekiel Betts Sr.; her mother, Agnes M. Ellison; her brother, Maurice LeDoux; and her sisters, Janice LeDoux and Mariah LeDoux.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Ezekiel Betts; her beloved grandchildren, Emantay Betts, Eemaj Betts, and Jalyn Betts; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends, and all those whose lives she touched through her kindness and caring spirit.

Jacqueline’s life was filled with love, service, strength, and a genuine desire to care for those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories, laughter, lessons, and love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
