James Edward Bowie, 83, of Hot Springs, AR, transitioned on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. He was born in Camden, AR, to Rena Bell Bowie.

James was preceded in death by his parents and several beloved family members, Tony Bowie, Cedric Mason, Vera Jean Bowie, Gloria Jean Bowie, Annie Bowie, Arlene Russ, Leroy Dorn, Larry Russ, Betty Russ, Kathy Russ, Titus Duncan, and Ann Walker.

James attended Lincoln Junior High and accepted Christ at an early age. After completing his education, James became an electrician and was a dedicated employee of Reynolds Metal Company for over 35 years. James had a passion for visiting various churches, where he made a lasting impact. In his leisure time, he enjoyed repairing small engines, watching westerns, fishing, and eating good food.

James is survived by his children, Andre Bowie, Missie Bowie, both of Milwaukee, WI; Rita Williams, of Austin, TX, Patricia Chambers, of Hot Springs, AR, Pamela Duncan, Tina Duncan, both of Atlanta, GA, and Melissa Witherspoon and Tim Duncan, both of Bentonville, AR., his siblings, Renee (Jerome) Jackson, Carl Russ, Carrie Robinson, Hazel (Clarence) Smith, Yvonne Russ, Ulysses Russ Jr., John Russ, and Lewis Russ. A special mention to Shawn Bowie and Jack Burris. A  host of nieces, nephews, Grandchildren and great-grandchildren, relatives, McDonalds morning crew, and friends.

The service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 12:00 noon, at St. Phillips Church of God In Christ 237 Walnut Street Hot Springs, AR 71901with visitation beginning one hour prior. The burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.
