James Christian Schweder (Chris) age 70 of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri during a snowstorm on March 2 nd , 1952, to Hans Junior and Marilyn Mae Schweder.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hank and Marilyn.

Chris graduated in 1970 from Shawnee Mission North high school. After graduation from high school, he went to the University of Arkansas and was awarded a full-ride scholarship on the track team throwing the javelin. He held the school record, lettered all four years, and graduated with a BS in Business Administration.

Chris had an extensive and successful career in food service management with various companies. His management skills were used in Kansas City, Little Rock, Texarkana, Arkadelphia, and Hot Springs.

Chris is survived by his wonderful and caring wife of 27 years, Shirley Schweder. The children they share together, including, Adam (Stephanie) of Paragould, AR, Lucas (Kate) of Conway, AR, Jeremy (Julie) of Hot Springs, AR, Angie (Patrick) of Boerne, TX, Susie (Jimmy) of Malvern, AR and Brittany (Riley) of Lancing, TN. His dearest siblings, Deborah Bjerkan (Jim) of Leawood, KS, Susan Orwick (Dave) of Shawnee, KS, and Tom Schweder (Bonnie) of Thornton, CO, his thirteen grandkids and five great-grandkids along with many nieces and nephews. His grandkids loved to call him "Hog Paw" which he cherished hearing from them.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm at First Free Will Baptist Church  901 W. St. Louis Street, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913
