Obituary

James Walker, Jr. after a well-spent life made his earthly transition on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the age of 65.  He was born November 26, 1953, to James Walker Sr. and Hazel Coleman Walker in Hot Springs, AR. His father preceded him in death as well as his brothers, Donald and Jerry Walker; his mother-in-law, Mae Lee Ellis.

James was a 1973 graduate of Hot Springs High School where he excelled in football, track, and basketball.  After high school he attended Oklahoma State University until he became injured.  He was a former employee of National Park Service, Reynolds Aluminum Company, St. Joseph's Hospital and the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center.

Left to cherish his memories is wife of 43 years, Louise Pinckney Walker of Hot Springs; his mother, Hazel Walker of Little Rock; his children, Tonya Walker of Edmund, OK, Tequisha Walker of Texarkana, TX, and James Walker, III (Quita Carter) of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Success Blevins, Sr., Jadyn Walker, Jayvion Walker, and Xavier Carter, and great-grandchild, Success Blevins, Jr.; his extended children, Sheila Anderson Walker, Yolanda Blevins, Tamu Walker, Derrick Womack, Hope Anderson, and Quincy "Tango" Walker; extended grandchildren; siblings, Brenda Miles, Wayne Walker, and  Michael Walker all of Muskegon, MI, Patricia Walker, and Mark (Delores) Walker of all Little Rock, and Calvin "Pete" (Mary) Walker of Tollette; his father-in-law, Alvie Ellis, Sr. of Hot Springs; a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Union Baptist Church 219 Gulpha Street, with Rev Douglas A. Jones, pastor of Garrett Chapel Baptist Church, Hope, AR, officiating and eulogist.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, May 10, 2019, from 5:000 – 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
