Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth
Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth a servant of the Lord went home to live with Jesus on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was born March 14, 1937, in Mobile, Alabama to Pearlie and Sam Stallworth. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was known affectionally as "Auntie Sweetie."
The Woman of God
Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was born again after a massive heart attack at age 30. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was led to the Lord by her late brother, Bishop Leo Stallworth, New York, and her late sister, Elvira Denham, Gary, Indiana. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was remarkably close to all of her siblings, and they regularly prayed, fasted, dine, and attended church together. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth witnessed first-hand both the healing power and the love of Jesus, as she gave her heart and life over to Him. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth became a student of the Word of Faith under the teachings of her pastors, the late, Elder M.C. Bennett, Open Door Church, Gary, Indiana, and Elder L.T. Hutton, Holy Ghost Deliverance Center Church of God in Christ, Ford Height, Il. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth graduated with two Master's Degrees, one in Education and the other in Special Education from Governors State University, University Park, Il. Dr. Jessie Stallworth received her Doctoral Degree in Divinity from Regency University. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth taught for many years as a Special Education Teacher in the Country Club Hills School District and Altgeld Gardens School District. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth enjoyed gardening especially her roses, planting greens, grapes, basil, potatoes, and green onions. She enjoyed shopping at the Amish Village and getting Amish delights. She especially like stylish shoes and enjoyed family gatherings, and especially eating holiday foods with her family.
The Pastor
Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was the Pastor of Jesus Way, Truth, Life Church for over forty years. She taught at many churches and faithfully with the Gospel of Christ reached out to her community visiting assisted living homes, radio broadcast ministry at WYCA- Abundantly Word & Life Ministry, and actively evangelized her community and everyone she met. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth poured out her life unto the lives of so many by prayer, and coupled with fasting, counseling, and teaching the Word of God. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was a loving Pastor, a woman of great faith and honor, who would not settle with anyone speaking doubt. The members of Jesus Way, Truth, Life Church expressed how much she love them, and they loved their Pastor in return, just as much. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth had many favorite sayings from the Word of God, "Love is in deeds, Ain't nothing right but holiness, faith without works is dead, may the Lord God bless you real good, and when serving other she would refuse to take the credit and would comment by saying, "This is my reasonable service unto others." Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth's favorite songs were, "I'll Fly Away, Every Praise, We Shall Behold Him, and Going Up Yonder. As a pastor, she enjoyed ministry, daily reading her Bible, teaching the Word of God and she honored the Sabbath Day with all of her heart.
The Matriarch of the Family
Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was united in marriage to the late, Nathaniel Warnell (until the 1960's). She was a devoted mother and leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Barry Warnell, Teresa Ablordeppey (Edward), Elvira Craig (Carlton), Maurice Warnell, Stephen Warnell (Abbie), Arlea Mann (Charles), and the late, Dr. Charles E. Warnell, who proceeded her in death. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was the grandmother of twenty-nine grandchildren, great-grandmother of eighty-four, and the great-great-grandmother of one. Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth is survived by her sister, Carrie Broughton-Irving, and her brother, Pastor James Stallworth, and a host of relatives and friends.
Dr. Jessie Mae Stallworth was preceded in death by her parents, Pearlie and Sam Stallworth, her five brothers, Elijah Stallworth, Roy Herring, Herman Herring, Leo Stallworth, and Marvin Herring. Her sisters, Elvira Denham, Evangelist Goldie Mae Campbell, and Dessie Mae Knox.
The Service
The Visitation will be Wednesday at 10:00 am. The Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am Legacy Church 3540 Central Ave Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913. The Burial immediately followed at Greenwood Cemetery 701 Greenwood Ave Hot Springs.
