John Arthur Anderson age 69, of Hot Springs passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018.  He was born November 25, 1948 in Leland, MS to the late Jessie and Sudie Howard Anderson.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jessie Ree Anderson, Anna Jean Frazier and Willie Lee Anderson.

John was a member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church.  He exhibited his faith by serving on the Trustee Ministry, Male Chorus, and caretaker of the church.  His main focus was making sure the grounds were kept up and always looking good.  John's hobbies included, fishing, cutting grass and gardening.  He would often sell his vegetables on the side of the road.  John had a love for cats.

John worked for the Downtowner Hotel and retired from Stratco after thirty-five plus years.

His legacy will be continued by his wife of twenty-one years, Janice Summerville Anderson; his son, Tim Anderson and his wife Nikki whom John called "Mickie"; his daughter, Trina Anderson (Van Counts) all of Hot Springs, his bonus daughter, LaTorea Daniel of Little Rock; sisters, Ora (Reginald) Greene, Ora (Bobo) McCruthchen, Pauline Allen and Cauline Thomas; seven grandchildren; the Summerville family; a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, September 24, 2018 at St. Mark Baptist Church 542 Crescent Ave.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the funeral home.
