John C. Brooks, age 78 of Batesville, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in Little Rock, AR at Baptist Hospital under Hospice services. John was born March 26, 1944, in San Francisco, CA to John Guy Brooks and Mary Jane Brooks.

Preceded in death are both parents, and Sister Sharon Gehring, Rita Brooks.

John is a veteran, having served in the US Army.

He lived in the Batesville area for close to 40 years, where he worked and retired from the local Walmart store.  He also had an auto parts business and enjoyed helping restore Mustang cars.   John's life-long enjoyment and hobby were everything cars.  He raced dirt track stock cars and; in later years organized and put on car shows locally.

John was involved in the American Legion Post 114; often during home visits would express how honored he was and the many friends he has made, including his long-term friend/partner Diane Marlin, and Eddy Burns.

John is survived by his brother Gerald Brooks, Sister Shirley Todhunter; Friend/partner Diane Marlin, Stacey Bunch, Tana Thomson, and Grandson Shawn and other grandchildren.

I personally wish to express heartfelt thanks to Diane for all her support and help during this tragic-sad time.  Plus all of John's other close friends you all have made this a little easier, while I try doing my best from afar in Washington State.
