John Lovell Galbert was affectionally known as, "Catfish and Brother" passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019.  He was born May 20, 1950, to Lovell and Nanie Bea Murphy Galbert.  They preceded him in death as well as, his step-mother, Aretha Galbert; his siblings, Marvin Jones, Denoris Jones, Roy Lee "Sonny" Young and, Retha Mae Riley.

John attended Langston High School and graduated in California.  He loved bowling, fishing, and playing pool.

John was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.  He retired from ALCOA and was the former co-owner of Sharks Old School and Lounge. He also worked for the United States Post Office and the Embassy Suites.

His memories will be cherished by his children, Angela Lindon, Alesia (Jabari) Nosakhere, Cassandra (Gregory) Crosby, Eric Galbert, Jeremy Galbert and Richard Smith; his former wife, Rebecca Galbert; his siblings, Clarence "Pony" (Mary) Galbert, Allie Jones, Debbie Martin, Ernie (Virginia) Jones and, Bonnie Jean (Eric) Montford and, Patricia Ann (Calvin) Galbert; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Visitors Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 319 Church Street. Visitation will be Monday, February 18, 2019, from 5:00 – 6:30 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, North Little Rock, AR.
