Jonathan Carmichael Smith age 61, of Hot Springs, passed away, Tuesday, October 8, 2019.  He was born February 16, 1958, in Memphis, TN to Nathaniel Smith and Clarine Crawford, who were residents of Forrest City, AR.  His father preceded him in death as well as two infant siblings, Rodney and Deborah.  Jonathan grew up in Menlo Park, CA. He was a 1977 graduate of San Carlos High School. He retired from Sacramento Regional Transit.  Jonathan was a member of the Amalgamated Transit Union.  He was one of Jehovah's Witnesses since 1974 where he served as an Ordained Minister.  He also served in many other capacities.  Jonathan was a noted speaker.  His Public Discourse Talk entitled, The Resurrection – Victory over Death can be viewed at http://m.youtube.com/.watch?v+NkbSEIFUJ8 .    Jonathan loved to raise saltwater fish, listening to good music especially, Sam Cook.  He also loved the people and the ocean. He will be missed by his wife of 21 years, Kimbell Smith of Hot Springs; his mother, Clarine Richards of Hot Springs; siblings, Jeffrey Crawford of East Palo Alto, CA, Gwen Crawford of Sacramento, CA, and Carl Smith of Santa Clara, CA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.  Memorial service will be held on October 19, 2019, at 1:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 225 Marion Anderson Road, Hot Springs, AR.
