Jean loved peopl e an d ha ng ing out with his frien d s . She work ed twenty-five ye ars of dedicated service to IBM on t he space p r o g ra m , writin g flight - q u alified Co d e. Sh e was homered for her work with IBM .

Joan retired and worked at Lock heed Martin for m a n y ye ars before her second retirement . at lock Heed . Jaan was a fri end t o eve r yone and will be dearly missed .

Joan was preceded in death by her parents , brother , Phillip II , sister Phillis Kay, and nephew Phillip III Shewmaker .
