LeDell Rigsby age 71, of Hot Springs passed away in the comfort of his home Monday, January 29, 2018. He was born May 5, 1946 in Waldo, AR.
Ledell was a 1964 graduate of the Historic Langston High School. He later completed courses at the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center. In his younger years he attended Ebenezer Baptist Church.
LeDell spent most of his working career at Union Carbide (now EVRAZ Stratcor). He was a smart, self-taught man. He had great work ethics and would often finish his work early. He would then go in work in the Lab, he was so good he would later be elevated to Lab Supervisor even with no formal training. He was instrumental in a patent which is in use today. Ledell retired after thirty plus years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Grider Rigsby; his twin sister, Anabell Rigsby Lewis and extended family.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of thirty-three years, Beverly Gideon Rigsby; two sons, David Rigsby and John Paul "J.P." Rigsby all of Hot Springs; two daughters, Vassie "VV" (Ron) Akins of Maumelle and Cassandra (Gregory) Crosby of Little Rock; one brother and two sisters, James "Bo" Grider, Mary A. Thrower and Virginia Sue Rigsby all of Hot Springs; one aunt, Willie Lee Grider; eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
A memorial celebration will be held 12:00 noon, Friday, February 2, 2018 in the chapel of Carrigan Memorial.
