Lester Tyrone Moody, 76 of Emmet, Arkansas, transitioned on Saturday, December 18, 2025. He was born on November 30, 1949, in El Dorado, Arkansas. He leaves behind a legacy marked by strength, perseverance, and quiet dedication to family and community.

A proud Arkansan, Lester spent much of his life grounded in the values of hard work, integrity, and loyalty. He resided in several communities throughout Arkansas, including Emmet, where he spent part of his later years.

Lester was known as a steady and dependable presence, reserved in nature, yet firm in his convictions. He valued family, respected tradition, and carried himself with dignity throughout his life. Those who knew him will remember his calm strength and unwavering character.

Lester was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Moody; his mother, Darlene (Hampton) Reed; and his grandparents, John Hampton and Lester B. Vanhook (Tyree).

Lester was united in marriage to Peggy Hughes on October 9, 1993, and together they shared years of companionship and devotion.

He was a faithful member of Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Emmet, Arkansas, under the leadership of Rev. John Fort, Pastor, and Maurice Grant, Associate Pastor.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Peggy Moody; his children, Marvin Moody, Derrick Moody, Tyrone Hughes, and Alvin Gulley; his siblings, Michael Black, Darrell Greene, Russell Greene, Saundra Greene, and Faye Reed; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
