Lonell Lenox, of Hot Springs, Arkansas transitioned on January 21, 2023, in Hot Springs, AR. Lonell was born on Monday, July 25, 1949, to Robert and Zonie "Nelson" Lenox in Rosston, AR. He was the baby of five children.
He was predeceased by his parents, One son, Ronald Lenox; His brothers, Ollie and Ray Lenox; One sister, Dorsey Jones; Two sisters-in-law, Wilberdine, and Deborah; One brother-in-law, John Hunter; His in-laws, Wilbert and Joyce Nolen.
Lonell attended Peake high school in Prescott, AR. After completing his education, he was also a proud member of the United States Army where he was a part of the Vietnam War. When he returned to the states, he met Minnie Lois Nolen. They Married in 1971 and, to their union, they had four beautiful children. During that time, he began his career as a certified professional driver trainer and was dedicated to his career for over 40 years. His talents created many opportunities to be recognized for several awards including The Million Mile Achievement Award, which he was very proud to receive. After retiring you could find him volunteering at CHI Hospital, he interacted with anyone. With his smile, he could make anyone happy. We will continue to hold on to those memories of joy, love, and laughter.
He was a faithful and dedicated member of Union Missionary Baptist Church where he proudly served as a trustee and an integral part of the security team, of the UMBC Renovation project and the Male chorus choir. He loved his church and church family.
Those left to cherish Lonell's memory are his loving wife of fifty-two years, Minnie Lenox; two sons Lonell Jr. "Dino" (Natasha) and Eric Lenox; one daughter Melody Lenox; one sister, Floralene Young; one Sister-in-law, Fannie Lenox, ten Grandchildren – Eric (Marcella) Lenox, Gary "Chino" Dobson, Jasmine Lenox, Brian Lenox, Lonell "Trey" Lenox, Tesia Noble, Brandon Lenox, Tyretha Lenox, Ronald "Lil Ron" Lenox; five great-grandchildren Road dogs. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all that knew him.
The visitation will be Saturday, January 28, 2023, from 9:00-11:00 am. The funeral will begin at 11:00 at Union Missionary Baptist Church 219 Gulpha St. Hot Springs, AR 71901.
