Lonnie was predeceased by his parents John and Leola Tidwell; his stepmother Eva Burch Tidwell; his first love and mother of his son Kay Torrence Tidwell; brother John Dennis Tidwell; brother Cedric Tidwell, sisters Rubye Joe, and Liza Mae Tidwell- McNeely.
Lonnie was a proud member of the United States Army and served in Vietnam as a graduate of Lakeside High School of Hot Springs. After leaving the service, Lonnie moved to Little Rock and eventually established roots in Rockford Illinois where he built his business and trade as owner/operator of Tidwell Carpets and installation until his retirement in 2003.
When Lonnie was able to find spare time, he enjoyed spending it with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, traveling and cherishing the laughter of a good joke (you can hear his infectious laughter right now). He loved sitting in his favorite chair in front of his big screen TV watching his football games or Gunsmoke and any other western this brought him joy. He knew every episode of Gunsmoke because he watched them over and over again, and could almost recite each episode word for word. Don't think his favorite was Gunsmoke. Lonnie loved any other show that featured a horse, wagon a dog name "Yeller", sometimes "Yeller" according to Lonnie meant you were a chicken, scared de cat, a coward, and other expletives won't mention at this time. We can hear his infectious laugh right now) We will continue to hold on to those memories of joy, love, and laughter of Lonnie L. Tidwell.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 47 years Kimberly S. Huff Tidwell. His loving son Lionel Tidwell of Conway, four brothers James (Stella) Marshall of Rockford Illinois, Alvin (Carolyn) Tidwell of Lou Ann, Arkansas, Calvin Tidwell of Rosston Arkansas, Gerald Tidwell of West Palm Beach, Florida and Willie Mae Jamerson (Peaches) sister-n-law of his recently deceased brother Cedric Tidwell of Rockford, Illinois, Brother-n-law James Lawrence (Eden) Huff Jr. of Hot Springs, Arkansas sister-n-law Cynthia A.
