Mary Ruth Brown age 60 of Hot Springs, died Saturday, January 13, 2018. She was born June 28, 1957 in Story, Arkansas. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was a loving, caring, and generous person. Her generosity turned strangers into friends. Her smile lit up any room. She carried laughter through her numerous jokes. She is predeceased by her parents, Freeman Rowland and Lessie Ulene Mencer; brothers, Donald and Daniel Rowland; husband, Earl Johnson, Sr;  Loving survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Tina Sims, of Hot Springs; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Charles Hawkins, of Hot Springs; son, Timothy Johnson, of Hot Springs; sisters, Evaline Connelly of Royal,  Carolyn Summerville of Kyle, TX; Barbara Reed of Tampa, FL; Alma Daniels of Glenwood and Deborah Cole of Saint Paul, Arkansas; 11 grandchildren: Soraya, Michael, Dreshauna, Deraya, Autumn, Kayla, Parion, Ahman, Maya, Xavier, and Jalaa; and 2 great-grandchildren: Savannah and Raymond, Jr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services with Rev. Matthias "Mo" Capaci of Gospel Light Church, officiating.  Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. Pallbearers are Earl Sims, Charles Hawkins, Daniel Boston, Michael Sims, Parion Johnson, and Ahman Johnson.
