Maurice Simril (Chevalier) age 81, of Hot Springs passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020.  He was born July 8, 1938, in Hot Springs, to Parlee Betts and Augusta Chevalier.  They preceded his in death as well as his daughter, Robin Simril; his brother, Otis Simril, Jr, and infant sister, Earlene Simril.

Maurice joined the United States Air Force in September of 1958.  He served his country for two years.

During his working career he was employed with the Como Hotel, Arlington Hotel, and the Majestic Hotel.  Maurice also worked for National Rejectors, but his most noted employment was working as a carrier for Arkansas Bank & Trust now known as Regions Bank.

He became a member of New Walters A.M.E. Zion Church in 1965 and remained a faithful supportive member until his passing.

Survivors include his children and their children; two sisters, Lenetta Harris and Wilma Lambert; a host of extended family and friends throughout the United States.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2020, at New Walters A.M.E. Zion Church, 208 Silver Street with Elder Antony Nero, officiating.  Burial with military honors will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the church.
