Michael L. Smith Sr. was born on March 1, 1953, to Columbus and Lucille Smith in Arkadelphia, AR. Both his parents have preceded him in death as well as his siblings, Vera Smith, Columbus Smith, Jr., Gary Smith, and Sharon Jordan.
Michael was a graduate of Mt. Pine High School in the year 1972 where he set records in athletics. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army for four years followed by twenty-three years with the 489th Engineer Battalion / United States Army Reserve. He later attended and graduated from Quapaw Technical Institute where he received his degree in Carpentry and then attended HYCO Carpentry Academy Foreman Level apprenticeship for several years.
Michael's working career includes Chamberlain Door, Littleton Construction, HYCO Construction, and Hobby Lobby Construction.
Michael was a lover of God's word and he loved to read the Bible. He was a member of Deliverance Temple in Malvern AR, where he held a Deacon position and sang on the praise team. After relocating to Oklahoma City, he attended Set Free Cathedral where he also held a Deacon position.
Michael boxed in the United States Army and trained in Golden Glove. He loved to do woodworking, home improvement and enjoyed watching westerns.
Michael L. and Doris Smith Sr. were married on December 23, 1972. This year would have marked Michael and Doris forty-nine years of marriage to whom he cherished. They had two children Michael L (Shelly) Smith Jr. of Hot Springs AR and Keiauna Smith of Oklahoma City. He also had three grandchildren Shawn Smith, Trey Smith, and Keelan Smith. He has one surviving brother Kevin (Tryla) Smith of Ft. Smith. Michael has a host of nieces, nephews, and family members that he cherished and loved.
Michael L. Smith Sr. will be always and forever loved and missed by his family.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 10:00, am the Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am at St. Thomas Chapel 347 Grove St. Hot Springs A 71901. with Pastor Charles Smith Officiating.
