The Life of a Servant

Minister Flora Mae "Ms. Flo" Singleton in her 73 rd season of life heard the voice of God on Friday, January 5, 2018.  She peacefully closed her eyes and went to be with the Lord.  She was born March 31, 1944 in Hot Springs to John and Corrie Boozer Singleton.  They preceded her in death as well as her son, Aaron Singleton; siblings, Pecola, Charles, Edmund and Kenneth Singleton.

She attended the Historic Langston High School.  She worked in several factories and was a foster grandparent.

Minister Flora accepted her call to the ministry in 2001.  She was an associate minister of Union Baptist Church.  She exhibited her faith by serving on the Encouragement Ministry, Celebrate Recovery Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, Music Ministry, Elite Seniors Ministry and was a Prayer Warrior. She loved to pray and preach God's word whether in the pulpit or on the streets.  She had a unique dance when she danced unto the Lord.   She loved to minister in songs.  Some of her favorite songs were," I'm Going to Take a Trip" and "Jesus Oh, What A Wonderful Child".

She loved her family and her legacy will be continued by her children, Virgil (Rhonda) Davis of Vacaville, CA, Loretta Singleton of Corsicana, TX, Carmen (Larry) Jones of Malvern, Kenneth (Tomica) Singleton of Texarkana, TX, Florinicia Williams and James F. (Tiffany) Williams all of Dallas, TX; her siblings, John (Shirley) Singleton of Vallejo, CA, Herbert (Diane) Singleton of Benton Harbor, MI and Sandra (Ronnie) Haywood of Vacaville, CA; twenty-eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
